Summer 2020: Health and Safety

catwalktowerCovidupdated 6/8/20

Catwalk is working towards reopening in August 2020 after suspending its season due to COVID 19.  Find here health and safety information for residency applicants and others in our community.

  • Together with medical professionals, we have reviewed our operations and have devised policies to help ensure the safety of all who visit, live, and work on its campus.
  • As a rural artist residency on sixty-five acres, Catwalk has plenty of space for social distancing.  Masks will be required when social distancing of 6 feet is not possible.
  • The occupancy limit will be 7 artists at any time, each with a private bedroom (unless applying as a couple).  Bathrooms are private or shared by 1 other resident.  Kitchens are either private or shared by 1 to 3 other residents.
  • For the safety of all, health screenings will be conducted upon arrival and as needed.
  • NY State-Required Quarantines for Some Travellers:  NY State currently requires a 14-day quarantine for anyone returning from travel to certain states.  More details are here.  If subject to the requirement, you must complete the entire 14-day quarantine before arriving at Catwalk.
  • More information will be provided to residents prior to arrival at Catwalk.
  • Catwalk Institute will monitor the health situation and make adjustments to policies and procedures as needed.  The 2020 season may be suspended due to health concerns or governmental directives.  The opening is contingent upon the Capital Region having entered phase 3 of the NY State’s reopening plan.
